Installation & licence

SETUP

Run the installer, start SOLIDWORKS and the Advanced Surface Tools tab appears in the CommandManager. Free tools work immediately; Pro needs a licence key or the 14-day trial.

Requirements

OSWindows 10 / 11, 64-bit
SOLIDWORKS2023 or newer
DocumentsParts (not assemblies or drawings)

Install

  1. 01Run AdvancedSurfaceTools-<version>-setup.exe. It needs administrator rights and waits until SOLIDWORKS is closed.
  2. 02Start SOLIDWORKS and open a part. The Advanced Surface Tools tab appears in the CommandManager.
  3. 03If it does not: Tools › Add-Ins, tick Advanced Surface Tools.

Licence

The free tools work right away. Pro tools need a licence key from your purchase, or the 14-day trial. Licence keys and the trial come with the Pro release.

Uninstall

Windows Settings › Apps › Advanced Surface Tools › Uninstall.

Sharing parts

Parts using these features need the add-in to rebuild them. Send others a copy saved as STEP or Parasolid if they do not have it. With the add-in installed, everything stays editable.

Log file

Problems are logged to %LocalAppData%\AdvancedSurfaceTools\log.txt. Attach it when you contact support.
