Split Body
Splits a solid or surface body into surface bodies: one per face, or one per group of faces you pick. Parametric.
Where to find it
Select a body or faces, then Advanced Surface Tools tab › Split Body (Surfaces). OK replaces the body with the surface bodies.
Options
BodyThe solid or surface body to split.
FacesOptional. Empty: one surface body per face. Faces picked: one surface body per connected group of them, and one per connected piece of the rest.
Keep the original bodyKeeps the body as it was beside the new surface bodies (else it is replaced).
Update previewShows each piece in its own colour; the message says how many bodies you get.
Editing the feature
The split follows changes to the body. Later features on a split face, such as an Offset Surface, keep their face when the split updates.
Edit Feature opens rolled back to before the split with the body and faces in their boxes: pick another body or other faces there and OK moves the feature, keeping its name and its place in the tree.
